It may surprise you that, for all the time I spend in the garden and the dirt under my nails, I don’t actually have chickens. And yet—chickens seem to be having their moment.

So when Kalmbach Feeds reached out about creating lifestyle images for their Non-GMO chicken feed, I found myself a little out of my element… but also curious and completely up for the challenge.

Each session brought its own set of surprises—because animals, as it turns out, don’t take direction. But there’s been something deeply rewarding about stepping into product photography. Learning as I go. Adjusting. Trying again. And somehow, finding my rhythm in the in-between.
